HISTORY OF ''EL COCUY''
The people started being populated by nomadic inhabitants, in the north, they brought agriculture. These created the Indian population there, with great socio-political organization, one of the best among groups u'waso Tunebo, laches and Muisca. The most important activities were the pezca, hunting, farming corn, potatoes, coca beans, among others ..
They say Hernan Perez de Quesada is the founder of this town, who together with his soldiers en1542 was searching the house of the sun, they also came Augustinians and Dominicans.
